Bacon straight away, but that then fades and gives way to warm bonfire, sweet tobacco and just a note of rubber. With more time in the glass treacle, cereal and pleasant soapiness. The palate is lead by sweet fruit and honey, then peppery heat, and an oily, woodsmoke finish. A complex and evolving whisky.

Salted milk chocolate, pecans drizzled in honey, baked apples with a dusting of icing sugar. A very engaging palate, it asks to be sipped again; light and sweet at first, with malty characters of butter pastry and enduring mouthfeel.

Coconut, buttered toast, resinous wood, dried apricot, sweet hay. Then more dried fruit, orange zest, honey, vanilla and a sappy green note to the finish.

Blossom honey, light poached pear, notes of honeysuckle and the gentlest touch of smoke. The palate brings more honey, soft fruit, vanilla, a little bit of oak spice. A gentle, elegant dram.

Briny, smoky and herbal characters leap from the glass….Initially a hit of sweetness (vanilla) then a wave of smoke, which leads on to spice and a lovely sugared almond note to the finish.
