Bacon straight away, but that then fades and gives way to warm bonfire, sweet tobacco and just a note of rubber. With more time in the glass treacle, cereal and pleasant soapiness. The palate is lead by sweet fruit and honey, then peppery heat, and an oily, woodsmoke finish. A complex and evolving whisky.

Plenty of ripe pears, nectarines and peaches alongside a fair whack of cinnamon and nutmeg. The palate is all crystalised fruits – ginger, orange peel and cherry, with the odd one perhaps dipped in chocolate.View ProductArran 18 Year Old70cl / 46.00% ABV£74.99 Out of stock
