Distillery Note: The perfect partnership of Oloroso sherry seasoned American and European oak casks creates the distinctive, warm character of this harmonious single malt. The delicate and indulgent flavours of American oak including vanilla, orange and toffee support The Macallan’s more traditional characteristics of rich fruits and wood spice which take centre stage.

Salted milk chocolate, pecans drizzled in honey, baked apples with a dusting of icing sugar. A very engaging palate, it asks to be sipped again; light and sweet at first, with malty characters of butter pastry and enduring mouthfeel.

Bacon straight away, but that then fades and gives way to warm bonfire, sweet tobacco and just a note of rubber. With more time in the glass treacle, cereal and pleasant soapiness. The palate is lead by sweet fruit and honey, then peppery heat, and an oily, woodsmoke finish. A complex and evolving whisky.
