Notes
The 13th release in the series, and a rather wonderful one!
Nose: Lovely citrus oil, cedar wood and embers, with warming spice.
Palate: Delicate peat, with fabulous roundness given by buttered toast and toffee richness. A bit of dunnage floor to give extra depth of flavour. Lagavulin at its best!

A complex and intriguing nose: sitting round a campfire on the rocky, salty West Coast of Scotland sucking penny toffees and lemon sherbets. The palate brings more toffee sweetness, but balanced by beautiful savoury notes of wet stone, brine, woody herbs and black pepper. Campfire smoke endures, and is joined by bittersweet chocolate and raspberry … Continued

Lemon and orange barley sweets on the nose, which opens up to give cereal notes with the addition of water. Lemon barley again, on the palate, with pleasant honeysuckle and sweetness in the finish.

Bacon straight away, but that then fades and gives way to warm bonfire, sweet tobacco and just a note of rubber. With more time in the glass treacle, cereal and pleasant soapiness. The palate is lead by sweet fruit and honey, then peppery heat, and an oily, woodsmoke finish. A complex and evolving whisky.

Noses a wee bit younger than you’ld expect from a 10 year, but the bright, complex spirit is full of baked pears, sherry richness, touches of ginger and white pepper and a pleasingly drying puff of smoke at the close.
