Like cracking the top on a well made creme brulee and taking a healthy spoonful – burnt caramel, creamy vanilla and a touch of citrus.

Briny, smoky and herbal characters leap from the glass….Initially a hit of sweetness (vanilla) then a wave of smoke, which leads on to spice and a lovely sugared almond note to the finish.

Coastal and medicinal tones on the nose, with cracked black pepper, herbacious elements of tobacco and black tea, with wafts of smoke throughout. The first thing to strike you on the palate is the sweet sherry, then tar, hints of chilli flakes and enduring chimney smoke.

The nose is sweet: vanilla with perfumed notes and a sherry edge. Smoky with sweet, honey flavours on the palate.

The nose is polished old oats, cocoa powder and roasted nuts. A bit sweeter on the palate (especially with a touch of water) with a combination of praline, caramel and dark chocolate reminding me of a particularly classy Snickers!

Super fresh on the nose, the smoke only just catching you at the end. The palate is a lovely balance between earthy smokiness and a old school, barley sugar sweetness.
