Notes
Crunchy green pears and sour apple boiled sweets with lemon rind, at first. This is followed by a lovely coastal note that breezes in, bringing with it hints of wellies and the last cinders of a warm fire. With time, elements of ham hock appear, and with a bit of opening up there are richer notes of boiled cream, vanilla, and breadroll thickly spread with butter and topped with smoked mussels. A first sip brings spice-tingle and delicately smoked Speck, then sweetness, rolling back to a sooty and Fox’s Glacier Mint finish.
James Eadie owned more than 200 pubs in his lifetime. This is one of a series of whiskies released to commemorate some of these fine drinking establishments! The label features a beautiful drawing by Annabel Pope, entitled “The Black Lion”, inspired by The Black Lion Inn, Coventry, acquired by Eadie 29th September 1896.

Matured in PX, charred virgin oak and ex-bourbon. Sweet crème brulee and Hobnobs on the nose, balanced by herbaceous flavours of wild mint and delicate aniseed. Warm orange peel and light lemon sweets. On the palate this is still undoubtedly Ardbeg, although in a lighter guise. Tobacco leaf and sweet hay mix with honeyed notes … Continued

The nose kicks off like a walk through a summer garden, finished off with round of buttered granary toast with honey. The palate is big, the floral notes giving way to pears in syrup, some lightly charred oak and a touch of salt.
