Rich creamed coffee, burnt caramel, dark chocolate orange and hints of stewed prunes: a rich and indulgent nose. The palate has delicate, light caramel sweetness with overtones of orange oil and delightful peppery nutmeg. Impressive.

A warming dram with initial sweetness that gives way to a suprisingly dry finish. Vanilla, toffee and soft brown sugar on the nose. Toffee apple and icing sugar on the palate, with vanilla throughout.

Bacon straight away, but that then fades and gives way to warm bonfire, sweet tobacco and just a note of rubber. With more time in the glass treacle, cereal and pleasant soapiness. The palate is lead by sweet fruit and honey, then peppery heat, and an oily, woodsmoke finish. A complex and evolving whisky.
