Notes
The nose is sweet with coastal undertones while the rum cask influence introduces dried tropical fruit including banana, coconut shavings and Demerara sugar. The palate is gentle and refined: Molasses and apricots combine well with cured meats, tobacco leaf and old leather. The long, gentle finish reveals Caribbean jerk seasoning with cayenne pepper, cinnamon and black peppercorn present against a background of soft, smoky embers.

Noses a wee bit younger than you’ld expect from a 10 year, but the bright, complex spirit is full of baked pears, sherry richness, touches of ginger and white pepper and a pleasingly drying puff of smoke at the close.
