Notes
Lovely minerality on the nose, with delightful petrichor and gentle smoke. This is balanced by fruity notes of rhubarb and apple, with honey, mint and malty tones in the background. The palate brings more mineral and fruit, softened by vanilla and crumbly biscuit. Pleasant pepper spice plays with nuts and the return of the sweet smoke in the finish.

Lemon and orange barley sweets on the nose, which opens up to give cereal notes with the addition of water. Lemon barley again, on the palate, with pleasant honeysuckle and sweetness in the finish.

Bacon straight away, but that then fades and gives way to warm bonfire, sweet tobacco and just a note of rubber. With more time in the glass treacle, cereal and pleasant soapiness. The palate is lead by sweet fruit and honey, then peppery heat, and an oily, woodsmoke finish. A complex and evolving whisky.

Noses a wee bit younger than you’ld expect from a 10 year, but the bright, complex spirit is full of baked pears, sherry richness, touches of ginger and white pepper and a pleasingly drying puff of smoke at the close.
