Notes
Personal note of Andrew W Syminton, as per the signed certificate included with the bottle:
This Single Malt Scotch Whisky was distilled at Bunnahabhain Distillery, on Islay, on 8th April 1971. It was filled into a first use ex Bourbon hogshead, cask number 2226, for the account of J. G. Turney & Co. Ltd. For us, as current owners of Edradour distillery, this is a special cask, as at the time of filling, J. G. Turney were the owners of Edradour. The whisky was fully matured in this single cask until bottling, but yielded only 95 bottles.
Deep gold in colour, the whisky is an explosion of tropical fruits, with pineapple, mango and melon very evident. Wonderful mouthfeel, with the fruits morphing into a slightly oily, waxy finish with just a hint of smoke.
The whisky was disgorged and bottled under my supervision in the Town of Pitlochry on 24th July 2017.

Distillery Note: As the most northerly distillery on Islay, we’re renowned for our unpeated, classically sherried single malts. And this limited release is quintessentially Bunnahabhain in style. Fully matured in rare Canasta sherry casks, its resting place was once home to skillfully blended sherries made from Palomino and Pedro Ximenez grapes. Canasta Casks are very … Continued

Delicate honey with dried flowers on the nose, all tied up with a very pleasant, nostalic wave of malt extract. A sip takes you on a wee journey past honey, through little peaks of citrus, into a calm valley of malt. Citrus returns at the end to ask about your trip…

The nose kicks off like a walk through a summer garden, finished off with round of buttered granary toast with honey. The palate is big, the floral notes giving way to pears in syrup, some lightly charred oak and a touch of salt.
