DISTILLERY NOTES (provided by Adam Hannett, distiller at Bruichladdich):
Like 14.1, Octomore 14.2 is also peated at 128.9 ppm and distilled from 100 percent Scottish malted barley. 14.2, though, spends its five years in a combination of Oloroso and Amarone casks. The differing casks impart roasted coffee, red currant, and rich fruit cake notes flavors carried on a wave of smoke.
Distilled in 2017 from the 2016 Harvest of 100% Scottish grown Concerto barley. Aged five years in a combination of first fill Oloroso hogshead and first & second fill Amarone casks.

A ten year old heavily peated Speyside malt whisky. An explosion of aromatic peat reek, with fragrant hints of honey, fruit and mellow oak on the nose. The palate is an avalanche of peat, followed by an extravagant and complex mix of fruit, heather, nuts, oak wood and spices.

Bacon straight away, but that then fades and gives way to warm bonfire, sweet tobacco and just a note of rubber. With more time in the glass treacle, cereal and pleasant soapiness. The palate is lead by sweet fruit and honey, then peppery heat, and an oily, woodsmoke finish. A complex and evolving whisky.
