Literally translated as “tears of Christ”, local legend claims the vines grew on the slopes of Vesuvius where Jesus’ tears fell as he ascended to heaven. This red is one of Campania’s most traditional wines, made using Piedirosso and Aglianico grapes grown in the local volcanic soils.
Deep red in colour with youthful violet hints, the wine has aromas of rose petals, lifted red fruits and a hint of lime marmalade from the co-fermentation with the aromatic Eden Valley Riesling. Wild cherries, blueberries and balanced spicy oak make for an opulent palate, with velvety tannins and an intriguing finish.View ProductDandelion Lion’s Tooth of McLaren Vale Shiraz-Riesling75cl / 14.5% ABV£13.99
