Notes
There’s a rich, sweetness to this edition, a combination of demerara sugar, treacle, orange rind and smooth milk chocolate. The palate is mouth coating and oily in texture with immediate dunnage warehouse and coastal influences coming through. It is lightly peated and less sweet in taste than on the nose, nicely balanced with oaky tannins. The finish is long and rich with dried fruit flavours coming to the fore from the port and sherry casks. Raisins followed by roasted coffee beans and a lasting note of bung cloth. A true old-style Springbank dram.

Pour…patience… Gentle butterscotch, melted butter, crushed Digestives along with gentle ash, lightly smoked ham and hints of spearmint. Sweetness on the palate balances the chimney smoke and tingling cinnamon spice in the finish.

Matured in PX, charred virgin oak and ex-bourbon. Sweet crème brulee and Hobnobs on the nose, balanced by herbaceous flavours of wild mint and delicate aniseed. Warm orange peel and light lemon sweets. On the palate this is still undoubtedly Ardbeg, although in a lighter guise. Tobacco leaf and sweet hay mix with honeyed notes … Continued
