Notes
Balblair’s decision in 2019 to move away from vintages and towards age statements has met with mixed feelings. This 12 Year Old, aged in ex-bourbon and charred American oak casks, is still unmistakably Balblair, with its beautiful texture and mouthful of tropical fruit!
Lemon drizzle cake and gentle, warming spices on the nose. The palate is full of juicy apple, pineapple, pawpaw and acacia honey. The finish is creamy, like dunking ginger-spiced biscuits in warm milk.

Delicate honey with dried flowers on the nose, all tied up with a very pleasant, nostalic wave of malt extract. A sip takes you on a wee journey past honey, through little peaks of citrus, into a calm valley of malt. Citrus returns at the end to ask about your trip…

Ashy smoke, confected cinnamon, uncooked smoked bacon a pleasant petrichor note. In the palate there is plenty more smoke and the huge, spicy sweetness of cinammon gobstoppers.
