This wine is ruby red in colour with purple hues. On the nose, it has intense aromas of plum, quince jelly and rosemary. On the palate, it is savoury and round, with flavours of plum, herbal notes and a hint of liquorice.

Full-bodied and well-balanced Merlot with a great character. Perfectly accompanies game, red meat and mature cheese.

As advertised, this smooth Merlot offers pure velvet, deep and delicious black fruit, cedar, tobacco and cassis. It conveys concentrated richness and yet purity and focus. It’s so good that it appears the devil made me do it.

Winemaker’s note: The Meerlust Merlot is a blend of 85% Merlot, 8% Cabernet Franc for structure and acidity and 7% Petit Verdot which gives the wine a lifted floral aroma and polished, sleek tannins.
