Deep red in colour with youthful violet hints, the wine has aromas of rose petals, lifted red fruits and a hint of lime marmalade from the co-fermentation with the aromatic Eden Valley Riesling. Wild cherries, blueberries and balanced spicy oak make for an opulent palate, with velvety tannins and an intriguing finish.

Plums, blueberries and cherries complemented by notes of caramel, mocha and candied fruits. 12 months in French oak lend complexity and toasted aromas. The palate is balanced with soft, round tannins. Red fruits predominate along with excellent acidity. A long, pleasing finish.

Gentle oak, red and forest fruits and green pepper, fennel and fresh herb on the nose. On the palate more forest berries, finely grained tannins and savoury notes. A drying, black fruit finish. Definitely a cabernet!

Winemaker’s notes: Rich, rounded red wine from Puglia in southern Italy. Soft, highly flavoured and scented with forest fruits, cracked black pepper and a dollop of blackberry jam. It matches very well with red meat, game and heavy sauces, but is also nice with spicy food and hard cheese.

Winemaker’s note: Honouring our Italian heritage, a portion of the fruit is made “appassimento” style, where the grapes are dried prior to fermentation. Bursting with red berry and cassis flavours, with a velvety, savoury and a plush mid palate that finishes dry. A perfect foil to rustic meat and pasta dishes.
