Notes
A beautifully balanced single grain whisky from a now-silent Glasgow distillery, closed in 2010.
Werther’s Originals, sweet red fruit and vanilla, hints of wood polish – almost rum-like. With a sip, more vanilla and banana and a delightful tingle of spice that fills the mouth. Great mouthfeel with a long, creamy butterscotch finish with dollops of clotted cream that lasts way after the spice eventually drops away.

Lemon and orange barley sweets on the nose, which opens up to give cereal notes with the addition of water. Lemon barley again, on the palate, with pleasant honeysuckle and sweetness in the finish.

Warm orange peel and light lemon sweets. On the palate this is still undoubtedly Ardbeg, although in a lighter guise. Tobacco leaf and sweet hay mix with honeyed notes … Continued

Crisp candied peel holds waves of soft peach and ripe banana dusted with Demerara sugar. Delicate, rounded peat smoke combines with gentle, sweet oak spices. On the palate dramatic peat smoke and barley complement crisp citrus zest, white pepper and fresh ginger. Caramelised orchard fruits and dried apricots develop to a rich, grassy wood smoke … Continued
