Notes
This is a blended malt named in honour of Masataka Taketsuru, the father of Japanese whisky, who mastered whisky-making in Scotland and brought this expertise back to Japan. Pursuing his own ideal whisky, Masataka established Nikka in 1934. This award-winning bottling has a complex malty flavour with Sherry cask influence generated by Nikka’s artistic blending inherited by the founder.
Spicy and delicate on the nose, with fruits (yellow plum, peach), chocolate, old leather, dried tobacco leaf, dried fruits (apricot, fig).
On the palate, rich, generous, unctuous: candied fruit (orange), Morello cherry, toffee, mocha and hazelnut.
A long and elegant finish: praline, charred wood, aniseed, citrus fruit, dried grass.
