Bacon straight away, but that then fades and gives way to warm bonfire, sweet tobacco and just a note of rubber. With more time in the glass treacle, cereal and pleasant soapiness. The palate is lead by sweet fruit and honey, then peppery heat, and an oily, woodsmoke finish. A complex and evolving whisky.

Spicy dried fruit, creamy vanilla, orange peel, green apple and cut flowers. Intense and complex palate: fruit cake, sticky toffee and seasoned leather followed by honey and lemons, leading eventually to a long finish full of spice and sweetness.

Vanilla sponge cake, light cinnamon spice and custard on the nose. Icing sugar on the palate, with continued gentle spice, and a growing woodiness, like fresh pencil shavings.
