Notes
In an Islay enthusiast’s dream the clean, iodine-rich aromas of a ship’s medicine chest soar high above the ashy embers of a peat fire. The texture is smooth, the taste unexpectedly sweet, intense and very smoky with light acidity and a sprinkle of sea-salt. The finish is long, lightly drying and smoky.

Bacon straight away, but that then fades and gives way to warm bonfire, sweet tobacco and just a note of rubber. With more time in the glass treacle, cereal and pleasant soapiness. The palate is lead by sweet fruit and honey, then peppery heat, and an oily, woodsmoke finish. A complex and evolving whisky.

Salted milk chocolate, pecans drizzled in honey, baked apples with a dusting of icing sugar. A very engaging palate, it asks to be sipped again; light and sweet at first, with malty characters of butter pastry and enduring mouthfeel.
