Notes
Lemon drizzle cake, heavy on the vanilla with blanched almonds, toasted peanuts, gentle embers – a nice nose. The palate brings more citrus and vanilla with subtle smoke and the heat you’d expect from a cask strength. Despite this we’d avoid the temptation to add water.

Soft brown sugar, touch of marzipan, peach, nutty oak, dollops of cream and chocolate: a boozy trifle

A ten year old heavily peated Speyside malt whisky. An explosion of aromatic peat reek, with fragrant hints of honey, fruit and mellow oak on the nose. The palate is an avalanche of peat, followed by an extravagant and complex mix of fruit, heather, nuts, oak wood and spices.

Bacon straight away, but that then fades and gives way to warm bonfire, sweet tobacco and just a note of rubber. With more time in the glass treacle, cereal and pleasant soapiness. The palate is lead by sweet fruit and honey, then peppery heat, and an oily, woodsmoke finish. A complex and evolving whisky.
