Notes
The smoke is light on the nose, giving the vanilla and white grape notes room to shine (it is almost like a smokey Burgundy). A slightly medicinal smoke really suits the waxy, salty palate – a banging, balanced dram.

The nose kicks off like a walk through a summer garden, finished off with round of buttered granary toast with honey. The palate is big, the floral notes giving way to pears in syrup, some lightly charred oak and a touch of salt.

Bacon straight away, but that then fades and gives way to warm bonfire, sweet tobacco and just a note of rubber. With more time in the glass treacle, cereal and pleasant soapiness. The palate is lead by sweet fruit and honey, then peppery heat, and an oily, woodsmoke finish. A complex and evolving whisky.
