Notes
An absolute beauty of a dram – it just keeps developing! Straight out of the bottle, the nose has lemon sherbet and a great putty note. After a moment or two in the glass, it opens up and develops fantastic aromas of strawberry New York cheesecake: elegant vanilla, buttery shortbread base and wild strawberry sweet/tart balance. The palate is different again, but just as layered: the first thing to hit you is the vanilla sweetness. This is followed by walnut and wood polish, a drying nutmeg spice. The finish is long and delicate, with rich clooty dumpling and (Luvians!) vanilla ice cream!
This is James Eadie Ltd’s first ever Single Grain Madeira Cask Finish, selected and bottled for Luvians, the family-run whisky specialists in the Kingdom of Fife, home of Cameronbridge Distillery. It was launched at the fourth annual Fife Whisky Festival in Cupar.
This whisky is bottled at cask strength, natural colour and without chill-filtration. Limited bottling of just 278 bottles.
