Notes
Unpeated. Islay Barley.
Distillery note:
This 2013 Islay Barley release is distilled from barley grown on seven farms from across our small island.
The terroir driven spirit has been matured in a combination of 75% First Fill American Oak and 25% Refill French Oak.
Nose: Citrus and honey emerge before dried apricot and ripe peaches. Sweet notes of marzipan, yellow flowers and vanilla pod are followed by spice, cereal and marine breeze. Over time oak notes of vanilla, creme brulee, caramel and wood spices come to the fore. Gentle hints of cinnamon, ginger cake and syrup.
Palate: Delicate sweetness and luscious texture. Perfect balance between sweet, ripe stone fruits and vanilla, caramel and brown sugar. A touch of water brings floral notes of hawthorn and heather to add to the complexity of this remarkable single malt.
