Distillery Note This exceptional malt gets its complex, zesty flavours from casks made of Chinquapin Oak sourced from the Northern Ozark region in Missouri. Chinquapin is a sub species of Quercus Alba and delivers spicy flavours and aromas. Nose: Bursting with orange zest, heather honey and pecan, with notes of butterscotch, nutmeg and liquorice. Nose: Waves of orange peel, heather honey and soft spice, followed by caramel, orchard fruits and mocha. Taste: Layers of heather honey, mocha and brittle toffee, with grapefruit,45.83334 cinnamon, earthy tannins and notes of ginger on the finish.

Creamy butterscotch with a hint of toffee apple, candied orange, vanilla custard and newly felled oak. Deliciously honeyed on the palate, with wood spices and citrus, balanced with raisins and caramel. Warm, sweet and drying on the finish.

Vanilla and pear with soft spices on the nose. Refreshing nectarine with tropical fruit, with suble roasted coffee, clove and ginger. A memorable finish of sultanas and black toffee.

A fresh island character. Beautifully balanced citrus fruit and light vanilla sweetness with bursts of apple and delicate marine notes.

Balblair's decision in 2019 to move away from vintages and towards age statements has met with mixed feelings. This 12 Year Old, aged in ex-bourbon and charred American oak casks, is still unmistakably Balblair, with its beautiful texture and mouthful of tropical fruit! Lemon drizzle cake and gentle, warming spices on the nose. The palate is full of juicy apple, pineapple, pawpaw and acacia honey. The finish is creamy, like dunking ginger-spiced biscuits in warm milk.
