James Eadie: Take a Sip Back In Time!
We love James Eadie, one of the oldest independent bottlers in the UK, who have been putting out some of the most consistently excellent small batch whiskies around in recent years.
We have been working closely with the guys at James Eadie for a few years now. Every release from them has interesting wee gems, with particular favourites of ours being their Caol Ilas with Palo Cortado finish and, of course, the series of old Cameronbridge single casks we’ve bottled with them (watch this space for another absolute belter, coming soon!).
A great eye for a cask and a fascinating history. Check out their story, here. And pop into our Cupar shop for loads more of their whiskies that haven’t found their way online, yet!
£37.99
Reminds me of old school desserts - sweet dough, sultanas, poached pears, vanilla custard. A heartwarming hug of ripe, fruity goodness.
£37.99
A harvest festival in a glass - all ripe apples, dry hay and dried herbs on the nose. The palate is more barley sugar candies offset with a citric herbal note, like lemon balm, all leading to an oily, gently lingering finish.
£39.99
Rich creme brulee, orange oil and kumquat. More vanilla custard on the palate, with a dusting of nutmeg and a delicate white pepper finish.
£41.99
Crunchy green pears and sour apple boiled sweets with lemon rind, at first. This is followed by a lovely coastal note that breezes in, bringing with it hints of wellies and the last cinders of a warm fire. With time, elements of ham hock appear, and with a bit of opening up there are richer notes of boiled cream, vanilla, and breadroll thickly spread with butter and topped with smoked mussels. A first sip brings spice-tingle and delicately smoked Speck, then sweetness, rolling back to a sooty and Fox's Glacier Mint finish.

This is one of a series of whiskies released to commemorate some of these fine drinking establishments! The label features a beautiful drawing by Annabel Pope, entitled "The Black Lion", inspired by The Black Lion Inn, Coventry, acquired by Eadie 29th September 1896.
