The Glendronach Revival, 15 year old
A firm staff and customer favourite, the opulent sherry bomb “The Revival,” the 15 year old malt produced at Glendronach distillery, will shortly go the way of the Dodo once what stocks are left disappear off the shelves. Thankfully it will be resurrected in a few years time once warehouse stocks recover from the meteoric rise to fame and glory that Glendronach has seen in recent years!
Glendronach has been in the hands of the Benriach Distillery Co. since 2008, headed up by Billy Walker, returning the distillery to independence. In 2009 the core range was relaunched with a 12, the Original, a 15, the Revival, and an 18, the Allardice. Each is an unabashed celebration of the rich sherried style historically associated with the distillery. With an impassioned and unabashed lack of compromise, the team at Glendronach have created potent and intense whiskies that have won them an ardent following among the whisky public.
We are some of the lucky few to still have stocks of the superb Revival. It’s a toffeed, treacly, raiseny wee monster of a dram, unctuously coating the mouth in sweet caramel, vanilla and dark honey while a lingering coffee-toned dryness gives all that opulence a wonderful structure and length. The best sherry bomb on the market by a country mile!
Get it while you can!
Until you can’t.
Until 2017 anyway…
